Staying Connected

Firstly,  I hope you are all safe and healthy.

What can I say…the world is a different place.  The Covid-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it.

We are now in lockdown and are very aware about social distancing.
For me, this feels a hard concept to grasp.  It is very necessary, but we need human contact to survive and thrive.

So I have found myself in a new role of bringing people together online.

I have created a Youtube channel called Conversations with Calm Therapy.

I have been interviewing Complementary Therapists and Business Advisors.

This keeps us as business owners connected and present online.
It also offers you, the viewer ways to cope with sudden change, release ourselves from fear and how to move forward.  I also ask each guest to suggest any useful activities we can do whilst we are in lockdown.

So far I have interviewed:

Parenting consultant & Family Relationship Coach
Breath Work Facilitator
Business Strategist
Stress Management & Laughter Specialist
Business Mentor
Shamanic Healer & Story Teller

and there are more to come….

This is useful information service for you.  Each guest answers 3 set questions from their area of expertise.  I hope they will help if you are facing difficulties during time this time of change.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel to see latest videos to inspire you.

Stay healthy everyone.

How Do You Keep Calm At Christmas?

Christmas is a time of fun and festive cheer!  There’s decorations to put up, gifts to wrap and Christmas day to prepare for.  Do you glide your through this Christmas season effortlessly, or do you come out the other end feeling more frazzled than the turkey on a bad day…?!

Here are some tips to help you keep your cool.

  1. Enjoy the preparation.

There’s plenty you can do to enjoy the preparations towards Christmas.
If you shop on the high street, make sure you take some time for a coffee or some lunch during that day.
Make putting up the tree a family occasion, or if you live alone, invite a friend over and have a sherry whilst hanging up your tinsel and baubles!
Spend an evening looking through your cook books, which recipes are your favourite and easy to make for Christmas dinner?

2.  Ask for help!

If you have too much to do, then ask for help!  Ask a friend or family member to help take on some tasks to prepare for Christmas festivities.  Perhaps they would like to join in and feel part of the preparation.

3.  Do something for someone else.

Do you have a neighbour who lives alone?  Or perhaps you have a friend who has had a difficult year?
Doing something for another person can often give you that “feel good factor” .  It may mean joining them for a cuppa for an hour.   Taking your friend out for a change of scenery could do you both the world of good.  You could visit a local Christmas market or book to see your local choir sing Christmas carols.

4.  Schedule in some ME time!

You’ve done it!  You’ve got through Christmas!  Now what about you?  Have you scheduled any time out for you?
Some Calm Therapy could be the perfect way to treat yourself after the Christmas rush.

Feeling Stressed – Why Not Treat Yourself Or Family And Friends To Reflexology?

Life in today’s modern world is hectic, and many people struggle with balancing work, families, children and relationships. In doing so, people find that they have very little or no time for themselves. If a list of priorities is created, most people don’t even include themselves on the list, and yet being a parent, pursuing a career and keeping partners happy all feature prominently. It’s accepted that stress and pressure are all part of life’s rich tapestry; things that have to be coped with, just like everything else. However, by neglecting themselves, and not recharging their batteries, life for many people becomes a perpetual struggle, with reduced energy levels and there is the genuine threat of burn out, exhaustion and illness.

Signs That You Are Neglecting Yourself

Do you ever find yourself saying?

  • I just wish I had more time for myself
  • I really don’t have time for that
  • I wish there were more hours in the day
  • I would love to have time to relax
  • I’m just so busy, I can’t fit anything else in

However, life doesn’t have to be like this! It ‘s all about giving yourself ‘me’ time, which will allow you to unwind, rejuvenate and de-stress. And as a consequence, you’ll actually start to feel a lot happier and healthier.

Creating ‘Me’ Time

It is so important to take time out for you and not to think that at some point this special time will magically appear, as it most certainly won’t. The only way to have time for yourself is to think of it as an appointment, something that you have to go to and do and something that you should do every day. There are lots of things that will just take up short periods of time and can be done from home or work including going for a walk, chatting to a friend on the telephone, or even just listening to music or reading a book.

Indulge And Try Something New

However, you could really try to be a little more adventurous and take time out for you, by indulging yourself. Have that facial that you have been promising yourself, or perhaps a manicure or pedicure. Think about complementary therapies, such as aromatherapy, massage, yoga and Reiki and reflexology.

Reflexology – The Stress – Buster

Reflexology is an alternative treatment, which has actually been around for thousands of years and has been shown to have very positive results.

  • Boosts energy levels
  • Improves circulation
  • Helps in relaxation
  • Eliminates toxins
  • Gives relief from stress and anxiety
  • Speeds up the healing process
  • Reduces the severity of headaches and migraines

Why not try reflexology without the commitment to a longer treatment plan?

Conclusion

Don’t have any feelings of guilt about taking time out for you, as it will have a massive effect on your life. Your family and friends will start to notice that you are calmer, happier and healthier with a lot more energy.
