Here are some tips to help you on your way!

Buy Less Food

According to the Soil Association, “food is the single most important, everyday way for people to reduce their own environmental impact”.
Buy food with less packaging.  
Buy organic meat to avoid intensively farmed produce. 
If you cook too much, prepare to store, freeze or share with a neighbour.

Use recyclable Wrapping

Use brown paper, tied with string or ribbon.
Add foliage from the garden or create your own stamps.
It brings an understated elegant look.

Eco Friendly Tree

Buy and FSC approved Christmas Tree
Buy from a local trader to reduce carbon foot print.
Once Christmas is over take it to a recycling centre where it can be shredded and reused for local bark and clippings.

Invest in reusable Christmas crackers. 
You can replenish them yourself each year with plastic free gifts.

Breath Work

As we enter into our fourth week of quarantine or cocooning, I’d like to ask you how are you breathing?

Sarah Weller’s Conversations With Calm Therapy

Conversations with Calm Therapy is a project where I interview a series of holistic therapists and business owners during the Covid-19 pandemic.  This is to create connection amongst business owners during isolation.  It also offers the viewer of these interviews tips on how to cope with sudden change, how to manage your fear that rises with uncertainty and perhaps learn how to release that fear from your body.  I’ll also be asking each guest for any useful rituals or activities we can add to our daily routines during lockdown.

Conversations With Calm Therapy

Non essential contact and now “Lockdown” means I have put my treatments side of my business on hold for now.

So I have started up Conversations with Calm Therapy.

I am interviewing holistic therapists and business people for a max of 10 mins each. 

I ask the same 3 questions to each guest. 

I will ask are how to manage peoples reaction to change, release fear and create useful rituals and activities during lock down.

How Do You Keep Calm At Christmas?

Christmas is a time of fun and festive cheer!  There’s decorations to put up, gifts to wrap and Christmas day to prepare for.  Do you glide your through this Christmas season effortlessly, or do you come out the other end feeling more frazzled than the turkey on a bad day…?!

Here are some tips to help you keep your cool.

  1. Enjoy the preparation.

There’s plenty you can do to enjoy the preparations towards Christmas.
If you shop on the high street, make sure you take some time for a coffee or some lunch during that day.   
Make putting up the tree a family occasion, or if you live alone, invite a friend over and have a sherry whilst hanging up your tinsel and baubles!
Spend an evening looking through your cook books, which recipes are your favourite and easy to make for Christmas dinner?

2.  Ask for help!

If you have too much to do, then ask for help!  Ask a friend or family member to help take on some tasks to prepare for Christmas festivities.  Perhaps they would like to join in and feel part of the preparation.

3.  Do something for someone else.

Do you have a neighbour who lives alone?  Or perhaps you have a friend who has had a difficult year?
Doing something for another person can often give you that “feel good factor” .  It may mean joining them for a cuppa for an hour.   Taking your friend out for a change of scenery could do you both the world of good.  You could visit a local Christmas market or book to see your local choir sing Christmas carols.

4.  Schedule in some ME time!

You’ve done it!  You’ve got through Christmas!  Now what about you?  Have you scheduled any time out for you?
